We are archaeologists

Did you know we have our very own archaeologists working at BEPS?

We have been finding and observing artefacts, and inquiring into what they can tell us about history.
We've been asking questions such as:

What is it?
Where did it come from?
Who did it belong to?
Why is it here?
Where was it found?
When was it made?

We began our inquiry by practising our scientific observation skills, by using the See Think Wonder thinking routine, to observe and speculate on artefacts brought in by the teachers.

We went digging in our own backyard, the Nicholson street side of BEPS.

Look at what we found!

We used our scientific skills of observation to carefully and accurately draw our artefacts. Then, after we had formulated some questions, we were given time to research our them.

Right now, we are using the information we gathered from our research, plus our imaginations to create stories about our artefacts.

Here are some published stories.

We are continuing with our inquiry next term, so stay tuned!
